Closer view of the intraepidermal spongiotic vesicles (HE, higher power). Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is caused by infection of Coxsackie virus A19 or enterovirus 71. In the latter case, encephalitic complication is problematic. Refer to case 115. | ||
