Case 161. Aeromonas hydrophila infection (50 y-o M)

       
  Autopsy findings of A. hydrophila septicemia in case of chronic renal failure under CAPD control, manifesting progressive gangrenous cellulitis of the right upper arm (clinical course: 3 days)  
       

 

  Gross features of lethal necrotizing fasciitis of the right upper arm seen at autopsy (Debridment had been performed). Aeromonas hydrophila was cultured from the lesion. Opportunistic infection may occur in immunosupressed patients.
