    Hemorrhagic necrotizing nephritis after bone marrow transplantation, manifesting macroscopic hematuria and cystitis.

Necrosis of the proximal renal tubules is evident (HE, low power).   High powered view shows intranuclear inclusions of full (smudgy) type or Cowdry's type A in the proximal tubular cells (HE). Renal involvement is often caused by adenovirus, type 11.
